I Felt Betrayed By God When I Lost My Husband - Chinonso Arubayi | Watch Full Interview




Almost 2 years after the sudden death of her husband, popular Gospel  singer, Eric Arubayi, his widow, who was married to him for three years, this morning spoke about life without him, and how she reacted when he died.

 
Chinonso Arubayi is opening about how she tackled the grief that came after losing her husband, gospel singer Eric Arubayi, in 2017. The 2007  West  Idol contestant had died on February 17, 2017, at the Delta State University's hospital after facing an illness. Chinonso married Eric for 3 years before his death and they had a son together.




In the interview, she talks about how his death made her shaken faith and how she was able to finally draw closer to God. She speaks of the amazing support she received in the Church as well as on social media. It opened in the way she was able to change her narrative and become a source of light and inspiration for people.


 Chinonso said she rejected motivational speeches when he died and went straight into depression because she didn;t believe a Gospel artist can die like that.

''My husband & I lived a faith based life. When he died, I lived in denial because I felt betrayed by God that my husband, a Gospel artiste, could die. I fell into depression, shaved my hair & wouldn't accept inspirational messages from well wishers'' she said.


She also spoke abot how she managed to get herself up again, so she can pay her bills and that of their son.

 ''In order to pay my own bills, cater for my son and convince people to allow me make them up, I had to start looking good again. From there, I started my make up line and media hustle'' she said

Arubayi had died from complications that arose from taking fake anti-malaria drugs
