A goat was rescued after escaping from a ritualist pit with placed on the back of a crowded beach resort in Camps Bay, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa.
Police spokesman Belinda Abraham on Wednesday found that it was expected to make a full recovery. On the back of the goat was a black dagger with red clothes tied around the wooden handle and what seemed to be cut hair on the fabric. Abraham said that it seemed that the animal should be used for a ritual sacrifice.
The goat was transported to the SPCA hospital, where it was removed from the chamber. She is currently recovering. Police are now seeking the perpetrators.
“A law enforcement officer was doing standard patrols and found her on the beach in between some rocks, trying to hide there. She had already lost a lot of blood,” said Abraham.
