C-Murder A Closer to Freedom After Recant lWitnesses

 

Miller may soon be a free man after two witnesses have given up their testimony that put No Limit Records rapper behind bars for life without the probability of bail. Miller, 47, was photographed above with his nephew, Romeo Miller, his brother's son, founder of No Limit Records, Percy Miller. In 2009, a Louisiana jury found Miller guilty of killing the 2002 death of a 16-year-old superfan at a missing night club in Harvey, Louisiana. Miller was also sentenced in 2003 in the same case, but the sentence was overturned by an appeal court. One judge rejected Miller's request for a new trial after his second conviction. The Jefferson Parish Prosecutor's Office based their case on the testimony of two witnesses who said they saw Miller shoot Steve Thomas on the chest that night. But both witnesses have given up their testimony, saying Miller was not the armor they saw that night.

Miller’s attorneys are seeking a new trial based on the new evidence.
Kenneth Jordan and Darnell Jordan, who are not related, are being represented by Miller’s defense attorneys.
Kenneth Jordan told an interviewer he lied when he testified that Miller shot Thomas as he lay on the ground while being beaten by another man.
In 2002, Kenneth swore that he saw Miller stand on the teenager and drop a single stroke on his chest. Kenneth added that the Sherif Department of Xererson's Office threatened to accuse him of the death of his baby boy unless he co-operated and testified against Miller. Kenneth's wife was later charged and convicted of the death of the baby. Jefferson District Department Office Paula Connick is blocking Miller's efforts to protect a new trial. The DA's office argues that court records and other evidence in this case are at odds with the testimonies of two witnesses. Miller could walk freely if he was found innocent in a new trial. Miller also pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges in connection with a shooting at a nightclub in Baton Rouge, LA in 2001.
