Alexis Olympia Ohanian turned 1 on Saturday, September 1st but her rich parents, Serena William and Alexis Ohanian, opted not to celebrate her birthday.
A fan was disappointed by this and pointed it out and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian responded.
It all began after Alexis shared a cute photo of Olympia on his Instagram page to mark her first birthday, writing:
1 year ago today, you changed our lives forever, @olympiaohanian ? my adventure princess.’
One fan expressed disappointment, saying:
it’s so sad that Olympia will not have a BD party
Alexis told the fan that Olympia would not be missing out because they celebrated her life all year round.
Alexis wrote:
I’m not a Witness, but I considered how made up it all is: the purpose of celebrating a birthday is to celebrate life with the people who love you (and to eat cake).A number of his followers praised him for his reply and said they agree with his reasoning.
This baby is loved and will get to celebrate life with people who love her *plenty* of times, with plenty of parties (and eat cake — in moderation) throughout her life.
