A Facebook user identified as Kingpin Eshiet, has taken to the social networking platform to share some photos of him and a friend slaughtering a giant sea turtle to make a meal.
According to Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF), Sea Turtles can be found along the Nigerian coastline. For example, the Leatherback Turtles, is one of the five types of sea turtles found on the Nigerian coast. With a lifespan of about 30 years in the wild they are currently threatened by marine pollution, poaching and harvesting eggs along the beach. However, Turtles in the Sea are endangered species where it is found, and part of the measures to enhance its prevention and protection is to save it from captivity. ...
