The Ghanaian Government has inaugurated biometric e-Gates at the international arrival hall of the Kotoka International Airport, Ghana’s AfroHustler has reported.
Initially in West Africa, the control of the biometric gate is part of the greater Ghana Accreditation (GIS) initiative to modify and modernize security measures. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the country's Communications Minister, has flagged the launch of 7 e-gates at the arrival hall, with 2 more being said under the installation hall. It is said that the project cost $ 18 million, and is part of the e-Transform program, a World Bank-funded project under the Ministry of Communications. E-gates allow travelers to use their passports to enter the country, and make identification, verification, and verification services. It is cut short, the time of travel time is spent on immigration officials.
