Academy Award-winning actress said on Instagram that she plans to buy out a movie theatres in Mississippi–where she will be when the movie opens– to give underserved communities a chance to see the movie.
Spencer also bought out screening for Hidden Figures in low-income neighbourhoods in Los Angeles when the movie was released in 2016.Black Panther is set to hit theatres on Feb 16.Her caption read, “I will be in MS when this movie opens. I think I will buy out a theatre in an underserved community there to ensure that all our brown children can see themselves as a superhero. I will let you know where and when Mississippi. Stay tuned. #KingsAndQueensWillRise”
