Zimbabwe's state media announced the retirement package for former President Roberto Mugabe, which includes a fleet of cars, a residence, private air travel among others. Mugabe, 93, who was downgraded last month after military takeover, is the first user of a lavish retirement package discovered by new President Emmerson Mnangagwa. No cash details are listed in the retirement package, but the Zimbabwean constitution holds that the former president is entitled to a retirement equal to the salary of the chairman of the session. It will be noted that Mugabe had received $ 10 million in retirement bonuses last month as part of a settlement to persuade him to retire. The former president has the right to at least 20 staff, including six personal security guards, all the costs paid out of the state treasury. Including the retirement insurance package, Mugabe will have three cars - the Mercedes Benz S500 Series, wagon and van - with a replacement every five years, and also encourages government service. Mugabe and his spouse also have the right to diplomatic passports with the first four classes of aircraft or trains from the country and four trips abroad on a private aircraft. Fully furnished official residences anywhere in Harare, the capital city with banknotes and entertainment fees, available to the government. It also includes health insurance for the former president and his family. After 37 years of rule, Mugabe was forced to resign after his party was expelled and the parliament failed to dismiss him. His longtime ally, Mnangagwa replaced him with the new president.
