China Waives Visas For Visitors From 53 Countries


People's Daily, a spokesman for the Communist Party, said visitors should go in and out of one of the six ports. According to the Economic Times, the departure will take effect from Thursday and will affect Germany and other members of the Schengen area without a passport of the European Union as well as the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Argentina. Beijing, the capital of China, is the main tourist node as the Chinese Wall, Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and other important historical monuments. Beijing and Tianjin had previously approved a visa-free trip up to 72 hours for certain nationalities. The same agreement continues in 16 other cities, including Shanghai. Shenzhen, on the Hong Kong border, also issues a special five-day visa upon arrival for some nationality.
