Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Receives Honorary Degree At The University Of Edinburgh

In recognition of his accomplishments as a writer and public scholar, Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie received an honorary doctor's degree at the University of Edinburgh. According to the university's website, Chimamanda will also participate in the University's International Book Festival, where she will be interviewed about her work. The director of the Center for African Studies, Dr. Barbara Bompani, who recommended Chimamanda for the award, explained that Chimamanda has influenced the lives and creativity of people through her stories. According to her, Chimamanda's writing, advocacy and public engagement make people understand their history and other people. For Chimamanda, she feels honored to be among those honored by the University
