‘On Becoming’ the memoir by Toke Makinwa was launched on Sunday 27^th of November 2016 at at The Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi, Lagos.Toke is wearing a dress from Nigerian brand Style Temple Spring/Summer 2017 collection

Tee A and Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi hosted the event attended by close friends, family, industry colleagues and well wishers.
Hon. Abike Dabiri gave a keynote address after which a short behind-the-scenes clip ‘The Journey to Become’ directed by The Film Factory played.
EbonyLife TV Chairwoman, Mo Abudu then hosted ‘Conversations with Toke’ interjected with musical interludes by Waje, Niyola, Nikki Laoye, Chigurl, Funbi and Timi Dakolo.

The highlight of the evening was the official unveiling of ‘On Becoming’, flanked by Lady Esther Akinyelure, Mo Abudu, Ruth Osime and Adenike Adebola.
The book readings then commenced with Debola Williams and Arese Ugwu who read excerpts from the Prologue and 1^st Chapter. At the launch include 2 Baba and Annie Idibia, Bolanle Olukanni, Chigurl, Elohor Aisien, Falzthebadguy, Funbi, Ayeni Adekunle, Ifeoma Williams, Michelle Dede,Banky W, Bolanle Austen-Peters, Osas Ighodaro, Ebuka, Stephanie Coker, Tara Durotoye, Nkiru Anumudu, Noble Igwe, Omojuwa,,Tosyn Bucknor, Adenike Adebola, Ufuoma Udjoh, and Zainab Balogun.
