At the October 4, 2026 concert in Lagos, an Advee Media interviewer tried to get an interview with Kizz Daniel as the singer and his team were leaving. Security declined, but the interviewer continued following them. A bodyguard then pushed him to the ground; the interviewer later said his microphone was damaged. He subsequently apologised, admitting that his persistence had become unprofessional.
When does enthusiasm for access become refusal to respect a boundary?
The interviewer clearly wanted the moment badly. He later explained that he had been a Kizz Daniel fan since primary school and became carried away because seeing the singer in person felt like a rare opportunity.
But the security team's job is also to create a boundary around the artist.
The interviewer kept pushing after being denied access, while the security response became physical. The story gets more nuanced than “overzealous fan vs aggressive bodyguard.”
A fan makes you forget that admiration does not automatically give you access.
