Filmmaker Biodun Stephen criticising security escorts who blare their sirens in traffic to force other motorists to make way for the people they are protecting.
According to a reports, Stephen questioned where drivers were expected to move when the road was already congested.
What did she say?
Stephen said:
“We're all in traffic o. Whether they want me to move to the bush or to jump into water because your oga wants to pass, I don't know.”
She also described the escorts as “daft” and “stupid” for blaring their sirens in traffic.
The obvious story is that Biodun Stephen is angry with security escorts but
issue is who gets priority on a public road.
When traffic has already brought everyone to a standstill, a siren cannot magically create space. Yet ordinary motorists may feel pressured to move aside even when there is nowhere safe to go.
The frustration is not simply about noise. It is about the expectation that one person's importance should allow them to bypass a problem everyone else must endure.
When everyone is stuck in the same traffic, should a person's status determine whose time matters most?
