Candy the Teddy arrested for lacing brownies with drugs

#jaiyeorie

A social media influencer known as Candy the Teddy (real name Praise Nwogu) was arrested by the NDLEA in Edo State for allegedly promoting and selling cannabis-laced brownies and cookies online.

According to the agency, she was found with multiple trays of brownies that tested positive for cannabis indica. A second suspect, Ebong Emem Oghosa, believed to be the producer of the drug-infused confectioneries, was also arrested with quantities of cannabis, synthetic “Colorado,” baking tools, and finished drug-laced products.

Although some social-media posts describe Candy as a “baker,” official reports identify her primarily as an online influencer involved in distributing illicit drug-based baked goods, not as a licensed or legitimate bakery operator. The NDLEA stated that the arrests were part of a larger crackdown on emerging online networks selling treats like cookies and brownies as a cover for drug trafficking.
