Alex Iwobi short video from the Super Eagles’ base in Morocco sparked widespread criticism as it revealed a visibly rundown environment around the team’s hotel.
The peeling walls, aged satellite dishes and generally neglected surroundings led many Nigerians to call the accommodation “substandard” and unbefitting a national team preparing for crucial World Cup playoff matches.
Although Iwobi later said he meant no complaint and was simply showing the view, the clip intensified debate about player welfare, professionalism and the level of support the team receives during important international fixtures.
