Nigerian socialite Emelda Obichie has taken her followers along on a Caribbean tour experience, as she explores Bridgetown, Barbados, the city famously associated with global superstar Rihanna.
From the colourful streets to the unmistakable island atmosphere, Emelda appears to be soaking up the beauty and culture of Barbados while visiting one of the Caribbean’s most recognisable destinations.
Obichie is soaking up the Barbados experience, making a stop at Rihanna Drive, the famous street associated with the childhood home of global superstar Rihanna, before hitting the beach in stylish Pucci swimwear.
Emelda brought her own fashion moment to the Caribbean getaway, looking beach-ready in Pucci as she enjoyed the sun, sand and unmistakable island atmosphere of Barbados.
Her stop at Rihanna Drive added an extra layer to the trip. The street, formerly known as Westbury Road, is recognised by Barbados as the community where Rihanna grew up, with her childhood home becoming part of the cultural landmark renamed Rihanna Drive in 2017.
Bridgetown holds a special place in Rihanna’s story. The singer, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty in Saint Michael, was raised in Bridgetown, where she spent her childhood before becoming one of the biggest music and business stars in the world.
Rihanna's connection to Barbados runs deep. In 2021, she was officially named a National Hero of Barbados, with the honour celebrated in Bridgetown.
For Emelda, the trip offers more than a beautiful holiday backdrop. It is also an opportunity to experience a destination whose streets, culture and history are closely connected to one of the world's most recognisable women.
