‘I Was Raped 6 Years Ago By My Colleague. I See Him Everyday’ – OAP, Lolo 1 Relives Her Traumatic Experience

Lolo 1, has bravely shared her traumatic experience of sexual assault at the hands of a male colleague in the broadcasting industry.

In a discussion on the Say My Piece podcast, which Nigerian media personality, Omotunde AdebowaleDavid, popularly known as co-hosts, the mother of four who doubles as an actress revealed that she was raped by a colleague six years ago, an ordeal that left her deeply traumatised.

She expressed the difficulty of speaking about the incident, explaining that she has often refrained from sharing the full details due to concerns about facing criticism for not speaking out sooner.

“I hardly ever say this, and I am not even ready to tell the full story. The stories of sexual assault. When I discussed it with my daughter yesterday, she held my hand and said, ‘Mummy, you’ve gone through so much.’ And I said I had,”

she said, reflecting on the pain of reliving the traumatic event.

“I have been raped only once in my life, and I was raped by a colleague. I see him every other day. Do you know how traumatised I am? When I see him, I just get into this momentary panic.”

Lolo spoke about the stigma surrounding women who speak out about sexual assault, particularly in the male-dominated broadcasting industry.

She expressed her fear that if she named her attacker, who is a well-known figure in the industry, people might question why she hadn’t spoken out sooner.

“If a woman of my calibre named him, he’s an established person in the broadcast industry, won’t people say, ‘How come I didn’t speak about it for all these six years until now that he’s taking a prominent TV position?’”

she asked.

She also discussed the emotional aftermath of sexual assault, saying that women often face denial and self-blame after such an experience.

“When sexual assault happens to women, the first thing to happen is denial. The next thing is self-blaming,”

the single mum shared.

Bianca Ojukwu Recounts How Her Father Rendered Her Homeless After Participating In A Beauty Pageant

#jaiyeorie

Former beauty queen and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Bianca shared her experience of being rejected by her family for taking part in a beauty pageant. She spoke openly about the feelings of hurt and disappointment that came with their disapproval. Despite this rejection she persevered and went on to win the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) Pageant. Bianca’s journey highlights the challenges many women face when pursuing their dreams. She shared her story at the Nigerian Women’s Day event during the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations headquarters in New York inspiring others to overcome obstacles.

Bianca won the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria competition in 1988 at the age of 20. She also won the Miss Africa 1989 pageant held in Gambia before representing Nigeria at both Miss World in Hong Kong and Miss Universe in Mexico.

Bianca’s father, Christian Chukwuma Onoh, popularly known as CC Onoh, was a businessman and lawyer who became the governor of old Anambra State in 1983 at the end of the Second Nigerian Republic.

Speaking at the event, Bianca said that as a young lady then, she did not allow her privileged background to distract her. She said that while she was a student in the university, she started her journey by going first into a certain pageant, which she won.

She adds that to take part in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant and it rendered her homeless for one month because her father was livid with rage for following the path rather than the law they sent her to school to read.

Interestingly, she said after she had won other pageantries like Miss Africa, Miss Intercontinental and so forth, her dad had to come to terms with it.

She highlighted the importance of education in every woman’s life, adding that when she started making money as a beauty queen, there was the temptation to abandon her law programme at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus.

She said:

“I started off really as a young girl wanting to see the world.

“I remember sitting in the common room with other young girls always in those days, we would be watching top of the box, the music videos, Miss World, Miss Universe, and always quite impressed with the exotic backdrops more than anything.

“I just wanted to travel and see the world, and what was the best way of doing that if not going into a pageant?

“So, I started my journey of going first into a certain pageant, which I won. But as a student, I couldn’t take the offer that came, which included a one-year modelling contract in Tokyo.

“Of course, my parents didn’t know. They didn’t send me to school to go and take part in a

“Until when I now took part in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, which rendered me homeless for one month because naturally African fathers, my father was livid with rage.

“But I guess after I had won other pageantry like Miss Africa, Miss Intercontinental and so forth, he had to come to terms with it.

“But the point I’m making is this, one of the hardest things is when you start earning money quite early, the biggest temptation would be to leave school.

“By the time I was earning my own money, I was a Law student living in the hostel with about six other students with no water, nothing, and then, going back to school to finish my education as a lawyer was quite challenging.

“But that was one of the best decisions I ever made in my life. I think young women need to understand the power of education.”

This is why Nigerians in droves are escaping this country everyday - Lawyer, Ayo Shonaiya, knocks EFCC over arraignment of singer Apala for naira abuse

Nigerian lawyer Ayo Shonaiya has criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for its decision to arraign singer Apala for naira abuse. Shonaiya believes that the action taken by the EFCC is excessive and unnecessary. He argues that the focus should be on more serious financial crimes rather than targeting individuals like Apala. The lawyer emphasizes the need for the EFCC to prioritize its resources effectively. This situation raises questions about the fairness of the legal system in handling such cases.

The charge read

“That you, TERRY ALEXANDER EJEH, on the 5th day of January, 2025, at La Madison Place, Oniru, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, whilst dancing during a social event, tampered with Naira notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by marching on the same and you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 21(1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.”

The court then ordered that the singer be remanded in the Ikoyi Correctional Centre pending the hearing of his bail application.

Reacting to the news, Shonaiya in a post shared on X, condemned the grammer used in compiling the statement. He also mentioned that many Nigerians are relocating because of issues like this.

He wrote

‘’This really breaks my heart. When you hear the saying “Nigeria is not a real place”, this is what it means. When you hear “May Nigeria never happen to you”, this is why Nigerians in droves are escaping this country everyday.

“Whilst dancing during a social event, tampered with Naira notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by marching on the same”. As a lawyer, I am even ashamed at the drafting of the charge with local and inflammatory language such as “marching” on the notes

Anjorin explains that her admiration for Tope Alabi led her to distance herself from fellow gospel singer Yinka Alaseyori

#jaiyeorie

In a recently released video, Anjorin articulated that her deep admiration for Tope Alabi prompted her to distance herself from fellow gospel artist Yinka Alaseyori. She clarified that her decision not to feature Alaseyori’s songs on her Instagram account was not rooted in any animosity but rather in her loyalty to Alabi.Anjorin recounted a specific instance where she turned down an invitation to an award ceremony in Canada solely because Alaseyori was scheduled to perform.

This decision underscores her commitment to Alabi, illustrating the lengths to which she is willing to go in order to demonstrate her allegiance.

Additionally, the actress reflected on a recent controversy surrounding Tope Alabi, during which the singer faced criticism for allegedly omitting her daughter's father from her wedding. In a show of support, Anjorin played one of Alabi’s songs, despite facing pushback from her own team. She also presented what she described as evidence of her loyalty, citing an email sent by a fan on January 26 to Alabi’s team, which mentioned her name in connection with a planned birthday surprise for the gospel singer. This fan's acknowledgment of her admiration for Alabi further illustrates the depth of Anjorin's devotion.

Lizzy anjorin

Anjorin claimed she never played Alaseyori’s songs on her Instagram page—not out of dislike but for loyalty to Alabi.

“It’s because of Sis Tope that I never played Yinka Alaseyori’s songs on my page. I don’t hate Yinka, but I was just being loyal,” she said.

Anjorin also recalled declining an invitation to an award ceremony in Canada simply because Alaseyori was billed to perform.

“I was invited to an award ceremony in Canada, and Yinka was to sing there; I didn’t go because it was not Sis Tope who would sing,” she stated.

The actress further noted that during a recent controversy involving Tope Alabi—where the singer was criticized for allegedly excluding her daughter’s father from her wedding—she stood in support by playing one of her songs, despite opposition from her team.

She shared what she claimed was evidence of her loyalty, referencing an email sent by a fan on January 26 to Tope Alabi’s team to plan a birthday surprise involving her. According to her, the fan mentioned her name in the message due to her well-known admiration for the gospel singer.

However, Lizzy expressed hurt over what she sees as Alabi’s silence amid public ridicule. “If not that Sis Tope is enjoying how people are mocking me that she disgraced me, she would have come out to talk. She humiliated me,” she said.

Anjorin added making controversial claims about Alabi’s early beginnings, suggesting her gospel music journey had roots in traditional practices.

“I am even the one that should not want to associate with her because the foundation of her gospel music had to do with rituals. She started with a traditionalist who was a founder of a church that you all know. I didn’t carry rituals because I wanted to be famous,” she alleged.

Beverley Osu reveals why she prefers dating older men

#jaiyeorie

Beverly Ada Mary Osu has shared her unconventional reasons for favoring relationships with older men over younger ones.

In an interview featured on Chude Jideonwo's YouTube channel, Osu revealed that her preference for older partners stems from their ability to meet her financial expectations. She emphasized her desire for attention and meaningful interactions, which she believes are more likely to be fulfilled by older individuals rather than those of her own age.

Beverly reflected on her past experiences, noting that one of her unsuccessful relationships involved dating a married man. She expressed that she struggles with pretense, making it difficult for her to navigate such complicated dynamics.

In her words;

“I still date men who are older than me, but the older men that I have dated were just my boyfriends, and there was nothing like a serious relationship between us. I don’t want to be another woman’s sadness, and I love attention and quality times with a man. Dating another woman’s husband has never worked out for me, so the older men I have dated were not sugar daddies. I still prefer dating older men because I want them to give me money and feed me. I don’t know how to pretend to love somebody, and I don’t want to be indebted to any man.”
