Damson Idris thanked his mother for flying seventeen hours from Lagos, Nigeria to Los Angeles to attend the NAACP celebration after winning the Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series award for the television series SnowFall. He made light of the fact that his mother had told him he had to succeed if she was to visit Los Angeles.
