“The team was woeful and terrible” — Rufai Oseni comments on Super Eagles’ loss to Ivory Coast

Rufai Oseni, Arise TV presenter, has bitterly condemned Super Eagles’ performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, final against Ivory Coast on Sunday.

The Super Eagles lost to host country, Ivory Coast in a thrilling Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final match at the Alassane Ouattara Olympic Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.

Reacting to the defeat, Oseni, in a series of tweets via his X account, said Jose Peseiro’s men gave a ‘woeful’ display against the host, adding that they only had just one shot on goal.

He tweeted, “Don’t politicize this loss, it’s not about politics, the team was woeful.

“We had just one shot on goal! We were terrible today.

“So upset I really hoped the boys would win it for those that died during the semifinals.That makes me sad.

“So let’s go back to our problems, food is expensive ooo.”

Ivory Coast came from behind to beat Nigeria 2-1.

William Troost-Ekong scored for Nigeria, while Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller scored for Ivory Coast.
