Beyoncé gave the impression that the current sexual harassment lawsuit brought by three of her former backup dancers against her buddy Lizzo doesn't bother her.
Beyoncé proved she was staying with the troubled rapper and singer during her show on Monday night in Atlanta, Georgia, by continuing to put her name on a list of powerful women in her remix of the song Break My Soul.
In the middle of the sentence, the 41-year-old hitmaker went even farther by yelling, "I love you, Lizzo!"
Beyoncé had previously returned Lizzo’s name to the lineup after removing it earlier in August, and her mother Tina Knowles downplayed the exclusion at the time.
The Boston show that missed out on Lizzo’s name was also unusual, as Beyoncé repeated Erykah Badu’s name multiple times, seemingly to clarify that she was a major inspiration after Badu accused the singer of ripping off her style on her current tour.
In a short clip from Monday’s concert circulating on social media, Beyoncé can be seen running through her list of inspiring Black women when she gets to LIzzo’s name and says it aloud.
Then she adds, ‘I love you, Lizzo!’ which appears to get some scattered applause from the crowd near where the video was shot.
It’s unclear if Beyoncé is privy to information casting doubt on the claims of the women suing Lizzo, or if her declaration of love was merely based on her preexisting friendship with the Truth Hurts rapper.
