Eko Hotel worker who returned lost $70,000 gets N2m, chieftaincy title

Ngozi Kekwaru, a staff of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos has been honoured with a chieftaincy title for returning $70,000 misplaced by a customer in one of the suites. Kekwaru, a native of Rundele community in Emuoha Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State, was unveiled as the ambassador of Emohua LGA in recognition of her show of honesty and integrity. Chairman of Emohua LGA Chidi Lloyd unveiled Kekwaru as brand ambassador at a ceremony in the council secretariat on August 3.

 


 Kekwaru performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of a one-kilometre Omkpoba-Mgbere road being executed in Ibaa community of the local government before proceeding to the council secretariat for her formal decoration as ambassador. In addition to the chieftaincy title, a pavilion was named after her. Speaking at the event, Kekwaru expressed appreciation to the Emohua and Ikwerre local government areas, council of chiefs and the people of Rivers State and Nigeria for the honours bestowed on her. She also received N2 million cheque from Ikwerre Local Government council chairman, Samuel Nwanosike, at the council headquarters, Isiokpo. Kekwaru dedicated all to her late father and all those who contributed in one way or another to raising her well.
