Dele Alake, an APC member and spokesperson for the Tinubu Shettima presidential campaign council, has weighed in on the claim that the APC is intimidating the free press.
In a recent interview, Alake explained why the APC and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the party's presidential candidate, shunned particular media outlets, most notably Arise Tv.
He said Tinubu can’t grant an interview on the station because one of the presenters, Reuben Abati was a PDP member.
He said the same Abati who is now linking the president-elect to a drug case campaigned as the deputy of an indicted and wanted drug person.
He said
“How do you expect Asiwaju of the APC to present himself to a PDP machine and a station anchored by a PDP member, Reuben Abati?”
He continued,
“Who does that?
They should stop saying now that they are fighting for a free press.
Don’t forget he was the deputy governorship candidate to the late Buruji Kashamu in Ogun State who was a PDP member.
Today, he is linking Asiwaju with a drug case in the US but he was the deputy of a known, indicted, and wanted drug person “
