Family members, political associates, and supporters gathered in 2022 to honor the memory of former Oyo State Governor Senator Abiola Ajimobi, marking the second anniversary of his passing through prayers, tributes, and activities organized by the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation (SAAF).

The remembrance events celebrated Ajimobi's legacy in public service, leadership, and democratic governance, while also highlighting the Foundation's continued focus on youth development, leadership, peacebuilding, and policy conversations.
Speaking during one of the commemorative events, his widow and President of the Senator Abiola Ajimobi Foundation, Dr. Florence Ajimobi, reflected on her late husband's enduring influence.

At the Foundation's posthumous birthday lecture, themed "Deepening Nigeria's Democracy for Sustainable Development," Florence Ajimobi urged Nigerians to strengthen democratic institutions and actively participate in nation-building.
"The 2023 general elections will determine the future of Nigeria."
Throughout the remembrance period, speakers described the late governor as a visionary leader whose impact continued to resonate across Oyo State years after leaving office. Newspaper tributes highlighted his contributions to infrastructure, governance reforms, urban renewal, and public administration, while former aides recalled his charisma, discipline, and commitment to excellence.
The Foundation also used the occasion to reaffirm its commitment to preserving Ajimobi's ideals through leadership development, research partnerships, and community-focused initiatives. A courtesy visit to the University of Ibadan further underscored its efforts to sustain his intellectual and governance legacy.
For many attendees, the remembrance was more than a memorial—it was a celebration of a public servant whose influence continues to shape conversations around leadership, democracy, and service in Oyo State and beyond.
