The chief financial officer of Bed Bath & Beyond has passed away, according to New York City officials.


According to police, Gustavo Arnal, 52, died on Friday after falling from the "Jenga" tower in Manhattan.


During the epidemic in May 2020, Mr. Arnal joined the business. He had previously worked for Procter & Gamble and the cosmetics company Avon.


The US big-box business has recently announced shop closings and employment cutbacks due to financial difficulties.


The company's shares have been erratic, and they are thought of as "meme" stocks that are influenced more by social media talk than by conventional economic opinion.
