Ayo Makun, a Nigerian actor and comedian better known by his stage as A.Y, has expressed his views on the need of providing for one's elderly parents.
The father of two made it abundantly clear on his Instagram page that family is everything and should be loved and respected.
The filmmaker posted a TikTok video of an Asian family, including a grandma, her daughter, and her grandchild, to demonstrate his point.
The elderly grandma was trying to eat when her plate slid from her hands, spilling the entire meal on the ground and shattering the bowl.
As a result, the small boy went out to buy two aluminum bowls—one for his grandma and the other for his mother—using the money he had saved in his pig waistcoat.
He defended his purchase by saying he got two bowls to prevent his grandmother from breaking one while eating and getting another round of reprimands from his mother.
The small boy explained that he acquired it so that when his mother gets old like his grandmother, she wouldn't be reprimanded by his wife for shattering her plate. The mother argued she didn't need it because she wouldn't break any ceramic bowl.
By disseminating the film, the Guinness World Record holder urged people to remember that everyone eventually gets old and that life goes through stages, so they should take good care of and assist their elderly family members.
His grandmother, who was also his mother, was astounded by his reply and started crying.

As we grow, they must adjust the ways they nurture us and help us grow. And then suddenly, one day, the script is completely flipped.
Suddenly, we find ourselves in the position of needing to care for our parents. It can also be an incredibly challenging experience. Giving up your life to take care of an aging parent is a major commitment.
You will both have to adjust to a brand-new dynamic. You’ll need to deal with new responsibilities, and may even face pushback.
Let’s remain patient and give all our respect to our beloved seniors; they have earned their dignity through their lifetimes. Help support and care for the bodies of your elderly parents, because it’s the only body they have to live in. Family is not only an important thing; it’s everything.”
