On Saturday, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the NNPP's presidential candidate, was in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State.

A sizable gathering of supporters greeted Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, in the historic north-east city.

Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, one of Kwankwaso's NNPP's most influential members, is about to leave the party at the time of the visit.

Shekarau just left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the NNPP, but is now on his way to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a result of a confrontation with Kwankwaso.

However, Kwankwaso urged the crowd to support NNPP in the general elections in 2023.
