Don Jazzy, a well-known music executive and record producer whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, spoke to aspiring Nigerian musicians.
The founder of Mavins Records urged aspiring musicians to display their skills and "roughwork" on social media in a post on that platform.
He advised them to be shameless about their current situation and location.
The talent manager offered guidance to up-and-coming artists while discussing how he was able to sign Ayra Starr, Boyspyce, and Bayanni.
Don Jazzy revealed that he was the one who reached out to the fast-rising singers.
Sharing more, he stated that he saw samples of their musical performances on their Instagram pages.
He was moved with their vocals and talents and reached out to them.
The music executive advised artists to show themselves on social media.
Here is what Don Jazzy stated on Instagram;
“DEAR UPCOMING ARTISTS,
FROM THESE 3 SCREENSHOTS YOU CAN SEE THAT I REACHED OUT TO AYRA, BOYSPYCE AND BAYANNI MYSELF.
I WON’T HAVE REACHED OUT TO THEM IF I DIDN’T SEE A SAMPLE OF WHAT THEY CAN DO ON THEIR INSTAGRAM PAGES.”
The former Mo’Hits records co-founder continued;
“FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME, SHOWCASE YOURSELF ON YOUR PAGE. I KNOW IT SEEMS UNCOOL TO POST A LOT. BUT THEN AGAIN YOU WOULD BE AN UNCOOL ARTIST IF ITS ONLY YOUR FAMILY THAT GETS TO HEAR YOUR BEAUTIFUL MUSIC TILL YOU GIVE UP”.
