Beyonce has said that she will be redoing the song "Heated" from her "Renaissance" album in response to harsh criticism on social media.

Fans of the multi-award-winning singer who released the album on July 29 amid much excitement got into a violent argument about a line she used in one of the album's songs.

The artist inserted a line in the song "Heated" that the disabled community perceived as an ableist slur.

“The word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced,” Beyonce’s team said in a statement, via Variety. On the song, Beyonce is heard singing, “Yadda, yadda, yadda / bom, bom, ka, ka / Spazzin’ on that ass, spaz on that ass / Fan me quick, girl, I need my glass.”

She has since faced some backlash for using the word, with disability advocate Hannah Diviney writing “my heart sank” when she heard it. Warren Kirwan, who is the Media Manager of disability equality charity Scope, also denounced Beyonce’s song lyrics, saying, “It’s appalling that one of the world’s biggest stars has chosen to include this deeply offensive term.”
