Ajax Amsterdam, the reigning Dutch Eredivisie champion, has confirmed the signing of defender Calvin Bassey to a five-year deal.
Bassey transferred from Glasgow Rangers, a team in the Scottish Premiership, to the Dutch giants.
It is believed that Ajax would pay Rangers a transfer price of €23 million, plus potential variables, which might rise to €26.5 million.
The Super Eagles defender steps in as Lisandro Martinez, an international for Argentina, is replaced in full.
This week, Martinez joined Erik ten Hag, the manager of Ajax, at Manchester United.
The player who Rangers acquired from Leicester City two years ago for barely €230,000 turned a significant return for the club.
Bassey, who has four Nigerian caps, has already begun preseason training in Austria with his new teammates.
