Owners of leisure centers have written the Minister of the FCT, Muhammed Bello, to remind him that Nigeria is a democratic country in advance of the Federal Capital Territory's plans to prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages in parks and gardens in Abuja.
They demanded that the minister uphold the legislation, summon his staff to order, and stop enforcing the Federal Capital Territory's requirement that parks and gardens close at 7 o'clock in the evening.
The group also discussed the enforcement in a letter sent through their attorney Ifeanyi Remy Agu titled "Re Suit No: CV/408/2008: Barrister (Mrs) Amanda Pam (Proprietor Suez Garden) & 60 Others -Plaintiffs Vs Hon Minister FCT Defendant."
