A businessman from Maiduguri named Dabarju Anarju was detained for stealing electricity from a system installed there to power lamps in his neighborhood.


Several accounts claim that the troubled businessman ran his ice shop's heavy machinery on the streetlight supply.

It was learned that the supply of lighting powered 21 of the refrigerators at his store, which was located at NUJ, New GRA.


This, according to sources, enables him to run his ice blocks, cold drinks, and other electricity-dependent businesses.


In order to accomplish this, on Tuesday, June 21, the Bomo Geographic Information System destroyed his shop while he was being detained by members of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps.
