Idris Elba reportedly will lend his voice to a character in the much-anticipated Sonic the Hedgehog 2 movie.

The actor took to his Instagram to confirm that he will be voicing one of the franchise’s most popular characters, Knuckles.

“Knock, knock,” Idris wrote alongside the hashtags #SonicMovie2 and #Knuckles.

This come more than one year after Paramount Pictures revealed that a sequel to the first movie was in the works. And early last year, the film’s star, Jim Carrey, said he’d be game to take on a second film.

“I wouldn’t mind going to do another one because it was so much fun, first of all, and a real challenge to try to convince people that I have a triple-digit IQ,” the actor said, per Complex. “There is so much room, you know, Robotnik has not reached his apotheosis.”

Complex adds that the “film is set to follow Sonic and Tails as they hunt down a potential world-altering emerald before it falls in the hands of Robotnik and Knuckles. The film will once again be directed by Jeff Fowler, and hits theaters on April 8, 2022.”
