Chidinma Ojukwu’s mother has spoken out leading to more facts
on the true identity of the 300 level Mass Communication student of the
University of Lagos, who was arrested last week Wednesday over the
murder of Chief Executive Officer, Super TV, Usifo Ataga, in a Service
apartment in Lekki area of Lagos State.
This followed startling revelations by family sources that the
21-year-old prime suspect in the murder saga disowned her family due to
some misunderstanding she had with her widowed mother.
Her first step as gathered was to change her original name : Chidinma Blessing Echefu, to Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu.
Information at Vanguard’s disposal revealed that her earlier
assertion that the change in her lifestyle was as a result of a broken
home could not be true after all.
Rather, one of her siblings, identified simply as Chioma, told
detectives that they lost their father when Chidinma was barely two
years old. Her mother was said to have remarried but that her children
were still with her.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) today officially granted China a
malaria-free certification as a token of celebration of the country’s
successful elimination of the disease after 70 years of its struggles
against malaria.
From 30 million malaria cases in the 1940s, China brought down that
number over the last decades, to have finally achieved no cases in the
last four years, the WHO said.
“Today we congratulate the people of China on ridding the country of
malaria,’’ said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
“Their successes were hard-earned and came only after decades of targeted and sustained action,’’ he added.
China’s efforts against malaria started in the 1950s, as the disease
was rampant in the southern part of the country, close to other hotspots
in mainland Southeast Asia.

The teenager had arrived home at 2am, dripping wet, and told his mother
his father was missing despite Jack traveling to pick his father up from
a Boston bar earlier that evening, a court heard.

The Weeknd reportedly will star in and co-write a new series being developed at HBO, Variety is reporting.
According to the outlet, the series, called The Idol, will follow the story of a female pop singer who strikes up a romance with an L.A. club owner that also leads a secret cult.
The Weeknd will be a co-writer and executive producer the project,
while working along with Reza Fahim and Sam Levinson. And they will be
credited as the show’s creators, while Joseph Epstein will be writing
and executive producing and will also act as showrunner.
This amazing news comes one year after The Weeknd was credited as the co-writer for the American Dad episode
“A Starboy is Born.” He played himself in that episode. He also played
himself (in non-animated form) in the Josh and Benny Safdie-directed
movie Uncut Gems back in 2019.
THRis reporting that the rapper will be making his acting debut in the musical drama Throw It Back from producers Paul Feig and Tiffany Haddish.
Per the outlet:
Throw It Back follows high school senior
Wytrellm who has never stood out from the crowd, played by Shahadi
Wright Joseph. According to the project’s description, the story takes
place “after a controversial superstar Miami rapper decides to feature
the renowned dance team from her high school in his latest music video,
it throws the school into chaos, and Wytrell battles for a spot on the
squad and her final chance to be in the spotlight.”
Thug will oversee the film’s soundtrack, as well as executive produce
the project, while Shadae Lamar Smith will direct from a script he
wrote with Rochée Jeffrey. Haddish will play a minor role in the
project, while producing it via her She Ready Productions with Melanie
Clark.
Bow Wow took to Instagram to tell fans that he is done with his rap career, adding that it “brings stress.”
“Y’all n****s see why I don’t be wanting to rap no motherfucking
more?” he said in the video. “This is exactly why I’m at peace. I’m at
peace man. I like hosting my shit, making more money than half of y’all
rap n****s. I like doing my podcast.”
The rapper who dueled with Soulja Boy over the weekend on VERZUZ,
added: “This shit right here is the number one reason why a n***a don’t
wanna rap no more. This is the reason why. I do movies and I do so much
other shit. It’s because rap shit brings stress.”
Complex adds that the video was apparently taken on Saturday, right when his hard drive crashed six minutes before the Verzuz show.
“I was soooo stressed putting this show together in 4 days for VERZUZ!!” he captioned the clip. “What y’all don’t know is our hard drive CRASHED 6 mins before we went live!! SEE.”

be the best because you’ve spread yourself so thinly in trying to do
everything at once.”
Kyle Massey has been charged with a felony for allegedly sending pornographic content to a 13-year-old girl.
According to court documents, Massey who played Cory Baxter on
“That’s So Raven” and “Cory in the House” was charged with one count of
of communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
Kylie was accused of electronically sending sexually explicit content
to a girl he knew during the months of December 2018 and January 2019
and this case is connected to the civil suit that was filed against him
in 2019.
In 2019, Kyle Massey was sued for $1.5 million for allegedly sending
“numerous sexually explicit text messages, images, and videos” via
Snapchat … but claimed he was being extorted
The girl’s legal team initially opted for the civil suit against
Massey, but according to the new docs, it went nowhere because she says
her lawyers told her they didn’t think Massey had enough money to make
the case worth it. So, she says she then went to the Sheriff’s Office to
file a report.

Facebook, has become the youngest and 5th
United States-owned firm to hit a $1 trillion valuation milestone.
The Mark Zuckerberg-owned platform, founded in 2004, reached the
staggering 13-digit feat following the dismissal of two antitrust
lawsuits against the company.
It has now joined other global brands such as Apple, Microsoft,
Amazon, and Google parent company, Alphabet, which have crossed the
market valuation.
On Monday, the stock of the multinational conglomerate closed higher
on Monday at $355.64 per share, which contributed to the trillion-dollar
valuation.
Business Insider reported that the rise came after a United States
court dismissed complaints by the Federal Trade Commission and a group
of state attorneys generals against the social networking company.
The FTC has claimed that Facebook is exercising monopoly as the
social media giant controls over 60% of the social-networking market.
In the ruling of the case, US District Judge James Boasberg in
Washington dismissed the claim, as he explained that there was no proof
to support it.
In a separate case, 46 state attorneys general formed a coalition to
question Facebook’s purchase of WhatsApp and Instagram, claiming that
the acquisition was a tactic to hinder competition from upcoming
social-media rivals.
Dismissing the case, Boasberg said that social networking services are “free
to use, and the exact metes and bounds of what even constitutes a
(social networking) service, which features of a company’s mobile app or
website are included in that definition.”
The dismissal of both cases resulted in a 4.2% rise in Facebook’s stock, leading to a $1 trillion value.

The World Health Organisation (WHO), warned that Africa is
facing a fast-surging 3rd wave of Covid-19 pandemic, with cases
spreading more rapidly and projected to soon overtake the peak of the
second wave the continent witnessed at the start of 2021.
WHO’s Regional Director for Africa, Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, during a
virtual press conference, yesterday, facilitated by APO Group, said
Covid-19 cases have risen for 5 consecutive weeks since the onset of
the third wave on May 3, 2021. As of June 20, day 48 into the new wave,
Africa had recorded around 474,000 new cases—a 21 per cent increase
compared with the first 48 days of the second wave.
At the current rate of infections, the ongoing surge is set to surpass the previous one by early July.
According to Moeti, “the pandemic is resurging in 12 African
countries. A combination of factors including weak observance of public
health measures, increased social interaction and movement as well as
the spread of variants are powering the new surge.
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda that are
experiencing Covid-19 resurgence, the Delta variant has been detected in
most samples sequenced in the past month. Across Africa, the
variant—first identified in India—has been reported in 14 countries.”
