In a shocking reports coming out of England, Edinson Cavani is ready to leave Manchester United in the summer.
Cavani, whose contract expires in June, was fined £100,000 by the FA for the use of ‘negrito’ in a social media post earlier in the season.
And his father, Luis Cavani now says the player is still peeved by the incident and wants out of Old Trafford.
“My son does not feel comfortable in England and wants to be close to the family again,” Luis Cavani said in an interview on TyC Sports.
“Edinson had many conversations with [Juan Roman] Riquelme and he would like to play for Boca.
“He was always seduced by the idea of playing in Boca. If he returns to South America he is leaning towards Boca.
“By the middle of the year he will return to South America. My son’s idea is not to continue there. He wants to return.”
The former Paris Saint Germain striker signed a short-term contract until the end of the season worth £9million, and has the option of a 12-month extension which has to be agreed by both parties.
Cavani has scored seven goals in 25 appearances for United but missed a number of games through injury.
The Uruguayan forward is friends with Boca president Juan Roman Riquelme and revealed in October that they have spoken about a move to the Argentine club this summer.
“Boca is a giant of the world, any player would love to play for them,” said Cavani.
“There are some secrets from the talk with Roman, you have to ask him if he wants to tell them. We will see what happens in the future.”
Fresh off their derby delight, you bet this isn’t the kinda news United want to hear.
