After scoring Juventus ’3rd goal in a match against Sassuolo on Sunday, Cristiano Ronaldo became the overall top scorer for official goals in football history.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his third goal in Juventus' 3-1 win over Sassuolo on Sunday and thus became the overall top scorer for the club and the country in the history of the game. With 759 goals in his career, Ronaldo equaled Josef Bican, the Austro-Czech striker who played between 1931 and 1955. In the first week of the year, the Portuguese icon passed the record of the former Brazilian great Pele of 757 official goals. Ronaldo's longtime rival Lionel Messi is in fifth place.
The 34-year-old is now on the brink of his proudest achievement to date. He only needs one more goal to become the player with the most points ever.
