COVID-19: Ijede General Hospital Not Shut Down — Lagos State Govt

The General Hospital, Ijede,has denied rumors circulating on social media that the facility was closed because its staff was infected with COVID-19.

 In a statement issued on Friday by the medical director / executive director of the hospital, Dr. Olufunmilayo Bankole pointed out that the facility has not been shut down and that all medical staff are doing a 24-hour service even before the start of the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the states. 

She called on the general public, especially residents of the Ijede community, to ignore the misinformation contained in the viral post, describing it as malicious and false with the sole intention of harming the reputation and integrity of the highly respected facility and its valuable staff. 

Bankole appealed to all his clients to continue patronizing the hospital for all medical care, stressing that they must, however, adhere to all COVID-19 safety protocols as instructed by the state and federal governments as well as the Nigerian Centers for Disease Control (NCDC).
