Cristiano Ronaldo returned to Camp Nou for the first time since leaving Real Madrid - and left smiling as Juventus dismantled Lionel Messi's Barcelona.
Juve’s leading indictment was the 35-year-old Portuguese superstar, who scored twice as much as Andrea Pirlo’s men took to a 3-0 victory. Ronaldo scored a double penalty, and U.S. midfielder Weston McKennie, who took first place in his Champions League group, was also targeted.
Speaking after the event, Ronaldo was asked about his eternal rival, to whom he paid tribute. Juve's victory in Catalonia was the first time that Barca have conceded three at home in the Champions League since May 2013, and the first defeat in the group stage at home since December 2008.
It also meant Barca failed to finish at the top of the Champions League group for the first time from 2006 to 2007, putting more pressure on mourning boss Ronald Koeman.

“I have always had a very good relationship with him,” the Juve star told Movistar.
“I shared 12, 13 or 14 years of award ceremonies with him. I never saw him as a rival.
“He always tries to do what is best for his team and me too. I always got along very well with him.
“But we know that in football, for the press, for the show, a rivalry is sought, but I have always gotten along well with him. I see him as always.”
Juve boss Andrea Pirlo was delighted with Ronaldo’s two-goal showing.
Speaking post-game, he said: “Ronaldo was very motivated to put in a good performance here against his eternal rival, so when you’re that motivated, it becomes simple.
“There are many games in a season and it’s easier to get fired up for fixtures like this, but we mustn’t lose sight of the real target, which is Serie A, so we have to be this concentrated and committed there too.”
