The social media has been agog in the last 24 hours following a video showing Dr Ifeanyinwa crying to the public for help over alleged repeated assaults by her husband.
The woman in the 2minutes and 13 seconds' video revealed that she had never known peace in six years of her marriage, adding that she gave birth to a baby through Cesarean Section only four weeks ago.
She said her husband assaulted her after she advised him to desist from spending recklessly on other women and save the money to take care of his children.
Ortom’s senior special assistant for new media, Jimin Geoffrey, shared the details of the reconciliation on Facebook on Monday. Angbo’s Facebook contributors shared the post again.
Meeting with the couple in government on Monday, Governor Ortom advised them to always resolve differences peacefully and avoid the temptation to participate in violence.
He said that as a young couple with great potential, he needed to establish a strong union that would be a role model for others.
The statement said Angbo, reacting, said he apologized to his wife for the attack, noting that he also sought forgiveness from the entire female regiment and would improve in the future.
For her part, Ifeanyinwa reportedly said she accepted her husband’s apology and forgave him, saying they needed prayers to strengthen love and raise their children to maturity.
The trendy video has generated comments from concerned Nigerians seeking the arrest and prosecution of journalists, but this is definitely not happening.
