Florence Obi becomes UNICAL first female Vice Chancellor

#jaiyeorie

Professor Florence Obi of the Faculty of Education has broken a 45-year jinx by becoming the first female Vice-Chancellor-elect of the University of Calabar, Cross River State.

She emerged top after a rigorous screening exercise involving 12 other candidates. Obi will take over from Prof. Zana Akpagu, whose tenure ends on November 30, 2020.

She said Obi’s emergence is a victory for the women and said the 10th Governing Council expects her to build on what the outgoing Vice-Chancellor had done.

“What I expect from her is to look at what the outgoing Vice-Chancellor has done, governance is a continuum, start from where he has stopped and ensure there is integration even amongst all the people that contested with her,” Nwaogu said.

Obi promised to run an inclusive administration, adding, “I’m happy and return all the glory to God. I have just received my appointment letter from the 12th Council as Vice Chancellor-elect. The process was free and fair, and I promise to run an inclusive administration.”

πŸ“Ž The key is : Learn how to BE HAPPY BY YOURSELF FIRST. Because a human being that is happy on his/her own will never settle to be miserable with someone else. When you find happiness on your own then you will be able to spread it and share it with someone else. ... CRITIC ALSO πŸ–‹️ spill TEA ☕ Easy on Shade πŸ’£
