 Olumide Osoba, son of a former governor of Ogun State has won the federal House of Representative election in  Abeokuta North/Odeda/Obafemi-Owode Federal Constituency in the state

Olumide, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, defeated the candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement, Micky Kazzim, a serving member of the House of Representatives with 33, 538 votes.

Kazzim had 14, 903 votes to come second while the candidate Olumide Aderinokun of the Peoples Democratic Party came third with 14,313 votes.
The candidate of Action Democratic Party, Rinsola Abiola,  polled 10,834 to come fourth.
The Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Ismaila Salami, declared the results at the collation centre at Unity High School, Ago-Ika, Abeokuta.


Two persons were later rushed to the hospital as some security personnel escorting election results from Ipokia, Ogun State to the collation centre at Oronna Town Hall were ambushed on Sunday.


The results got to Oronna around 10:14 p.m. amidst heavy security.
Ipokia is a local government area in Ogun West bordering the Republic of Benin. Its headquarters is Ipokia town.
The security personnel claimed they were ambushed at Eredo village situated between Owode and Ilaro.
They were on their way to Oronna Town Hall, where they were expected to deliver the local government‘s House of Representative and senatorial election results.
