Shade Ladipo is the Country Director for WEConnect International in Nigeria .She writes So one of my major hustles is being the Lead for WEConnect International in Nigeria for almost 3years
If you don’t know what @weconnectinternational does then let me explain
One of the 2 major things @weconnectnigeria does is WE connect Women Businesses into the Supply chain of Major Corporations as Suppliers/Contractors.
We work with partners who understand that working with Women is important for the Economy and they intentionally contribute to giving Women Business owners Economic Opportunities
Another thing we do is provide Women Owned businesses with Training & Capacity building to get them ready to do Big Business
Unfortunately this is only for Female CEOs who have real vision for their businesses
Women who understand that getting a Big business means you have to be prepared for Big Business
It’s been an amazing 3 years and we are still going strong with AMAZING success stories across different Industries from Catering to Facility Management to Engineering services to Advertising and more
Almost 40 bid opportunities were shared in 2018 and at least 40% of that was fulfilled by our Women
I’m so proud of the work I am privileged to be a part of and it wouldn’t be possible without our Amazing partners and champions
Procter & Gamble, ExxonMobil, Access Bank, Accenture, EY, IBM and so many more
Thank you to my colleagues in Washington for the support and intense hard work in making sure we have all we need to succeed
And of course to all the Amazing SHEOs who inspire me daily with their resilience, hard work and doggedness
I adore you guys
Work has already begun for 2019 as 2 of our Women have already won Bids to start in 2019
Im sooo excited
Please follow @weconnectnigeria to join the network and tap into these opportunities if your business is 51% female owned & managed
I will keep doing my part in pushing the conversation for Female Economic Empowerment
My name is Shade Ladipo
