Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has rejected an award offered to him by the Edo State Football Federation.
Governor Obaseki said he has not received prizes as a governor and that what the journalist presented would not be an exception.
Obaseki rejected the prize at a party where he made a member of the Bendel Insurance Football Club to qualify for the Professional Football League of Nigeria (NPFL) after 11 years of decline.
The governor of Edo, who urged the team to take notice of the NPFL, said that the team was aware of the challenge launched to them in the presentation of the brand club in 2018.
Obaseki announced the N25m cash reward for the players and N5m for the party club.
