Alexandra Shipp Responds To 'Beale Street's' Kiki Layne Plotting For Steal Her 'X-Men' Role

Alexandra Shipp has been getting backlash since she began playing Storm in the “X-Men” film series back in 2016. Many fans have said that it is time for darker skinned Black women to play the comic book character, considering she was an African queen.Alexandra Shipp clapped back at reports that Kiki Layne is plotting for that Storm role in X-Men.
Kiki Layne, star of If Beale Street Could Talk, made a splash with her breakout role.


She slayed her role in the movie and she has been getting tons of press for her picture perfect red carpet looks.


Layne is interested in superhero movies and has her eye on X-Men's Storm.


Alexandra is bi-racial, also caught some flak previously for saying she wouldn't turn down roles she knows were originally created for dark skinned black women, because the best actor deserves the role and shouldn't pass up opportunities.
