28-year-old E! News correspondent and Toledo native gives first keynote speech ever and damnnn she got a standing ovation
She captioned; So honored to give the @NAACP keynote speech on economic empowerment + the power of voting โ at my hometown chapterโs 103rd Freedom Fund Banquet. Thank you for having me! โค๏ธ๐๐พ
Last weekend, I gave my first keynote speech ever. I hope it wonโt be the last. It scared the hell out of me. But Iโm so glad I did it scared โ and used my voice โ because you know what scares me more? Having my voice silenced. Having OUR voices silenced. Because YOUR voice (+ your vote) MATTERS.
And to my American brothers & sisters (of all races, ethnicities & socioeconomic backgrounds) who think certain issues donโt affect you directly: Consider your friends. Your neighbors. Your colleagues. Donโt just vote for yourself. Vote for the people who need you as an ally. And encourage your friends & fam to do the same!! Weโre all in this together. #VOTE.
