Tiffany Haddish might have nabbed another role. Collider reports that the actress and comedian is in talks with Sony about her inclusion in the reboot of the popular Jump Street franchise. The next spinoff is said to have a leading female cast, and Haddish would surely be a good inclusion for the movie.
On October 21, 2012 Jump Street, the first movie in the recent iteration of the series, was a re-imagination of police procedures in the late 80's of the same name.
The action comedy featured Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as kidnapped police officers who present themselves as high school students seeking to ruin a drug ring.
The film was praised, marking more than 200 million dollars at the box office and receiving a second part 2 years later.
22 Jump Street has become even more successful than its predecessor, as it has earned $ 331 million worldwide. The premise of the resumption of all women would mean that Haddish was apoliceman, but that hse presented herself as the mother of a child who also entered a school.
Sources point to Awkwafina as being high on the list of names considered for the role of the student. Awkwafina's stellar performances in this year's hit films Crazy Rich Asians and Ocean's 8 proved her to be a highly talented actress, so it is no surprise if she is in talks for the role.
