Popular blogger Linda Ikeji has taken to social media to share the new gift she just got her son Jayce.

Sharing the photo above, she wrote;
Jayce’s Bentley Mulsanne arrived Lagos just in time for the New Year! Yay! The best chapter of my life has begun with this handsome little human. So blessed! #OMO! 😅😅😅

A baby arriving into the world with a luxury car waiting for him sounds like something out of a celebrity lifestyle story. But for Nigerian blogger Linda Ikeji, it was a celebration of a new chapter in her life.


The media entrepreneur took to social media to celebrate after the white Bentley Mulsanne she bought for her son, Jayce, arrived at her Lagos home just in time for the New Year.

Linda later explained that she purchased the Mulsanne while she was pregnant and living in Atlanta, describing it as a celebration of her son's coming into her life. The car eventually arrived in Lagos in December 2018.


Jayce was born in Atlanta in September 2018, making the luxury car part of the celebrations surrounding his arrival. Contemporary reports put the vehicle's value at around ₦120 million, although reported prices varied by source.


For Linda, the Bentley represented more than luxury.Becoming a mother was clearly a major personal milestone, and she repeatedly described Jayce as one of the biggest blessings of her life.


At the end of 2018, she listed her son as the number-one thing she was grateful for, ahead of her parents, siblings, businesses, home and other possessions.


The car therefore became part of a much bigger story about a woman celebrating motherhood after years of building her career and businesses.

The Bentley also stood out because of Linda's own reflection on how far she had come financially.


In her end-of-year reflections, she recalled that a ₦700,000 car she owned in 2008 had once been repossessed because she could not complete the payment.


Ten years later, she was celebrating owning a Bentley Mulsanne.


That contrast gave the luxury purchase a different meaning: it was also a symbol of the dramatic change in her financial circumstances and career.


Photos shared at the time showed young Jayce sitting in the back of the Bentley, turning what could have been simply a luxury-car purchase into one of the memorable celebrity-baby moments of the period.


Linda's family also celebrated the purchase publicly, with her sisters sharing images and congratulating her and Jayce on the new car.


The Bentley attracted attention because of its price and extravagance, but Linda's own comments suggested that the deeper story was about what Jayce's arrival represented to her.


After years of building her media career, becoming a mother marked a completely new stage of her life.


And for Linda Ikeji, that new chapter arrived with a rather extraordinary welcome gift.
