Michael Obafemi is committed to playing for the Republic of Ireland at an international level, ending the speculation he could choose to represent Nigeria or England.
The Southampton forward was born in Dublin to the Nigerian parents, but grew up in London and is eligible to represent the three countries on an international level.
Obafemi, 18, was summoned for Ireland's selection on November 6 for the friendly against Northern Ireland and the League of Nations against Denmark. Playerworks CSM, a football agency representing Obafemi, posted a statement on his behalf.
