Nigerians In New York Celebrate Independence On The Streets (Photos)

Nigerians  painted the Second Avenue on Route 54 in Manhattan, ended at the 44th Street Nigerian House. This was followed by the Independence Day Festival at Plaza Dag Hammarskjold, near the United Nations Headquarters.

Known as Nigeria's biggest celebration that is not happening at home, Nigerian Independence Day's 27th anniversary celebrates Nigeria's food, culture, music and people very well. The festival is also the largest African Parade in the US, showing the unique culture of Nigeria and promoting the positive image of Nigeria in the rest of the world.
