Jo-issa Rae Diop aka Issa Rae, was born in Los Angeles, California, her dad is a pediatric doctor from Senegal while her mom is a teacher from Louisiana.
Issa Rae is Best know for her HBO Emmy -nominated series ‘Insecure’, she is also a writer and a producer.
Issa Rae who received 2 Golden Globe Award nominations for the Best Actress and a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series Covers the TV issue for Glamour Magazine.
In an interview with the Founder of ‘The Shade Room’- Angelica Nwandu for the magazine, Rae talks about her career in the movie industry, she says; “There Was No Blueprint for My Career”, this is coming from one of the first black women to create and star in her own TV series- Insecure.
