Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays the role of Jaime Lannister in hit series “Game of Thrones”, is about to shell out $2 million.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the Danish actor has been ordered to pay his former manager Jill Littman around $2 million — nearly $1.75 million of that in back pay, plus about $225,000 in interest, following a contract dispute Waldau had with Littman and her agency Impression Entertainment for the about a decade of the Hollywood portion of his career.
The actor apparently terminated their business relationship in 2015 via an email to Littman which read:
“I am nothing but grateful for our many years working together and the success we shared. And the reason I have decided to leave Impression is not to go somewhere else but to basically take control myself. Game of Thrones is coming to an end now.”
But in April, Littman produced a written agreement that contradicts the claims of the actor: the document, apparently, was written so he could apply for a 0-1 visa in America. Coster-Waldau has tried to deny the agreement of a farce, which apparently has opened the possibility of charges of fraud. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, a Los Angeles court ruled that the agreement was real and ordered Coster-Waldau to pay Littman the aforementioned amount. Although the actor still has not reacted to the decision, his lawyer has confirmed that he will go to the box.
